Hi Sudowrite!

I'm a Product Designer who loves to write.

I must say, your JD absolutely blew me away, and it was really cool to read.

Chapter 1 (only chapter)

You made a video for us, so I made a video for you.

Let me introduce myself; I am Jacki, a designer, memoir-enthusiast, and realistic optimist (with the career pivots to prove it). I decided the best way to show you who I am and why I am applying, was through video.

Hope you enjoy it.

So, this shall be a perfectly suitable job application.

I’ll be honest: I didn’t know Sudowrite until a colleague shared your job posting—and I was instantly intrigued. My own journey into memoir writing, thanks to a creative writing class in San Francisco, showed me how what design and honest storytelling share: both help people get what’s inside, out.

You are likely wondering what I’d actually bring to your team, here are three things that matter:

  • Prompt engineering and AI collaboration: I wasn’t always sold on AI in creative work—until a TED AI project and some real-world practice (freelance clients) showed me how to use these tools to make design sharper and faster. I live and work in prompt engineering every day.

  • A toolkit that isn’t just UX: My background is a weird, useful mix of architecture, marketing, and copywriting. I’ve switched careers (and rewired my thinking) more than once, so I see creative problems from a lot of angles and know how to build bridges between teams, not just wireframes.

  • A steady, optimistic approach (especially when it’s hard): I’ve learned that you don’t get anywhere without a bit of stubborn hope. When life or work gets tricky, I don’t panic—I put my head down, get feedback, and figure it out. It’s not always glamorous, but it works.

My goal is to bring all of these skills and experiences to your team so that we can continue to create change—together.

If it makes sense to talk, please reach out at torrespoloc@gmail.com and let's schedule some time to meet.

Cheers,

J
